Not receiving meeting requests in Outlook 2010

One day meeting requests started going directly to my calendar without me having to accept the meeting. This was not good as I had to check my calendar regularly to make sure I wasn’t missing an appointment.

It got worse. Suddenly the meeting request quit showing up at all. I didn’t realize this until I got an angry email (All CAPS) from my boss wanting to know if I was going to join a meeting.

The solution was easy:
1. Close Outlook.
2. Go to Start, Run and enter: outlook.exe /cleanrules
3. That starts Outlook
4. Close Outlook again
5. Go to Start, Run and enter: outlook.exe /cleanserverrules
