After the dramatic stock market decline on Monday followed by the pessimistic conversations I heard on Tuesday, I could not help but think this morning about the movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life”.
There is George Bailey at the counter of the Bailey Savings and Loan trying to calm an anxious and demanding crowd that has just experienced a “run on the bank”. George is pleading with the crowd not to withdraw their savings but instead to look at Mr. Potter, the ‘richest man in town’. He is not selling but he is buying!
So I say slow down and calm down everyone. Take a deep breath and thoughtfully consider your options. Do I want to sell or do I want to buy?
Oh, and by the way, remember at the end of the movie who really ended up being the richest man in town?
