Microsoft Has Accounting Software?

It is interesting that I still find business men and women that did not know that Microsoft has accounting and financial software packages they should consider when looking for new software.

Microsoft took this path into providing accounting software applications when it purchased Great Plains software back in 2001. That acquistion by Microsoft gave them the Great Plains Software (now named Microsoft Dynamics GP), Solomon Software (now named Microsoft Dynamics SL) and both the FRx financial reporting package as well as the online budgeting software of Forecaster. Later in 2002, Microsoft made a similar acquisition of more accounting software publishers when it purchased the Danish software publisher, Navision (now named Microsoft Dynamics NAV) and Axapta (now named Microsoft Dynamics AX). In addition to these four ERP packages, Microsoft also developed Microsoft Small Business Financials and Microsoft Office Accounting for smaller businesses just starting out. WOW!!! That is a huge choice that is available to accounting and financial professionals! How do you compare packages to decide which one is best for your organization? Go to the website www.microsoftforaccountants.com . There you will find a multi-page comparison guide as well as product reviews and links to each of the packages.

Happy software searching!!
