I had sales prospect recently that did not buy from me but from a competitor. When I asked the reason, she told me the other software met her budget. When I pointed out that the software she did buy would not meet her needs, she seemed to not care. When I showed her that the other software would need several customizations in order to meet her needs and those customizations plus the base software price would be substantially more than the Microsoft Dynamics software I was recommending, if finally dawned on her that the “deal” wasn’t really a deal.
Moral: Buy what you need to do the job, not what fits your budget.
