Clarifying the 2031 End of Support Date
There has been a lot of confusion and unnecessary fear surrounding Microsoft’s announcement regarding Dynamics GP’s future. Let’s be clear: Microsoft has stated an End of Support date for Dynamics GP — not an End of Life. Those two things are very different.
End of Support simply means that after the stated date — currently 2031 — Microsoft will no longer provide official updates or fixes. It does not mean that Dynamics GP will suddenly stop working. Far from it.
History shows us that Microsoft often extends these dates, and we fully expect that to happen again. Remember Great Plains and Dynamics SL? Customers continued to run those systems for 5 to 10 years — and even longer — after Microsoft’s official support ended. Dynamics GP has the same staying power.
