We’re in the home stretch for this year and it’s amazing that it is already Q4! We just returned from SummitNA 21 and it was an amazing conference! It was great to reconnect with great people and attend and see some really good presentations. Our favorite was the GP General Session that was hosted by PowerGP Online. The session was full of new features from the October GP release and included presentations by Terry Heley and a cast of GPUG All-Stars. If you missed this year, make sure you start planning for next year in Orlando!
GP October Release At the first of October, Microsoft released a new version of GP – 18.4.1361 – and has three different blog series around this release.
All features: (+) Microsoft Dynamics GP October 2021 – Feature Blog Series Schedule! – Microsoft Dynamics GP Community
Feature of the day series: Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP – Microsoft Dynamics GP Community
Upgrade blog series: (+) Microsoft Dynamics GP 2021 Upgrade Blog Series Schedule – Microsoft Dynamics GP Community
We’ll also be hosting a webinar on November 5th to review all these new features and you can register here: https://www.powergponline.com/blog/webinars/
In addition to new features, this release includes a lot of bug fixes. Here are just a few of the items fixed in this release:
Slow performance in the General Ledger Transaction Entry window.
If not registered for multi-currency, batch posting date is grey when Payable transaction workflow is activated.
GL Reconcile to PM routine duplicate key if identical voucher number and document number are in the same batch
Selecting ‘View History’ on PM Documents created via a recurring batch with PM Transaction Workflow in place will error in Dynamics GP: The record has been deleted since you opened this window.
Safepay file pull name of employee used on the payroll check not from employee master.
Vendor ID with Apostrophe throws Incorrect syntax error in Payables Transaction Inquiry Document
Possible error on the Payables Checkbook Posting Journal ‘This transaction couldn’t be posted to the Bank Reconciliation because the Checkbook ID no longer exists’.
If you’re experiencing any of these issues or other odd issues in GP, please email support@njevity.com and we’ll see if this release will help fix those problems.
Please note: You can not upgrade to this release if you are on GP version 18.3.1290, you will need to wait for the year-end release to get these new features and bug fixes.
GP Year End The GP year-end update is tentatively scheduled for November 19th. We’ll be confirming PowerGP compatibility with that version as soon as it’s released and should be ready for upgrades shortly after that. A list of all the known changes as of right now can be found here: U.S. Year-End Update for Microsoft Dynamics GP | Microsoft Docs
NOTE: At this time, there are no Payroll W2 changes nor Electronic Filing for Payroll but there are many 1099 changes so please review the list and email support@njevity.com to schedule your year-end update and year-end closing assistance as soon as possible. Rockton Price Increase The Rockton Software team has informed us of upcoming changes to their product pricing, effective January 1st 2022. Product prices will increase by $10 USD per user across all of their Microsoft Dynamics GP add-on perpetual products and there will be a slight increase for subscription products. If you already own a Rockton module, this will only affect your annual renewal amount – you do not have to pay the price increase. Please contact sales@njevity.com with any questions.
