In a perfect world, everything would function properly all the time. But we are living in a perfect world and support requests are inevitable. When submitting a support request, providing adequate information helps us resolve the issue faster and more efficiently. eConnect Integration Service Will Not Start

The installation of eConnect seems to complete correctly but eConnect Integration Service Will Not Start .   To fix this, I checked the error logs and found this in the Administrative Events: Action: Service Startup and Construction of Service Host Current User Name: Input parameters: Exception type: System.ServiceModel.AddressAccessDeniedException Exception message: HTTP could not register URL http://+:80/Microsoft/Dynamics/GP/eConnect/mex/. Your process does not have access rights to this namespace (see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70353 for details). A quick web search found Adam Liposky’s GPUG blog entry, https://www.gpug.com/blogs/adam-liposky/2014/04/28/econnect-service-starts-and-then-stops. He had three steps, only one of which is necessary. The other two are unwise (sorry Adam). Printing to PDF on Windows 10 and 2016

Have you tried printing to PDF on Windows 10 and 2016 yet? No? Well, you are going to love this. In previous versions of Windows, Microsoft tried to push a file format called XPS. It never quite took off as PDF remained the file format of choice. Printing to PDF was never straight forward and always required the installation of additional software. The good news is that with the newest versions of Windows, Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016, Microsoft has given up on the XPS format and embraced PDF by including native print to PDF functionality! SmartList Favorite Doesn't Return Data

One of my associates, Karen Henkelman, and I found an interesting issue in the GP web client. We had a PowerGP Online Partner open a case complaining that a just created SmartList Favorite wouldn’t return data. We tested it on a Desktop client (PowerGP Online is SAAS, web client only GP solution) and it worked fine. The name contained an apostrophe; “Audit List JL’S”. We removed the apostrophe and problem solved.

ADFS 3.0 Remove expiring Token-Signing and Token-Decrypting Certificates

If you have autocertificate enrolment on then this wil happen automaticly. However you need to inform the Relying party trust of the new token certificate if they do not use you adfs xml. Most partys do not use this. How does it work. By default the adfs server creates a new certificate 20 days before the primary token certificate expires. 5 days before expiring date the new certificate will be made primary. In this time frame you need to inform your relying party trust and give them the new ADFS certificate. Lets face it. This is not enough time for most partys in my experience. Common RDP Problems

If your entire workflow happens on a remote desktop, having problems with missing features or even not being able to connect to the RDP server can bring that workflow to a screeching halt. Here are a couple common problems and suggestions on how to resolve them.Logon Attempt Failed: If you are unable to connect and the RDP window says “logon attempt failed” at the bottom, it is because the username or password used are incorrect. This occurs more often when the RDP file has credentials saved and the password has recently changed. If the credentials are saved, you can simply right click and edit the RDP link file and then delete the stored credentials. After GP Company database restore: The selected company is not configured as a company of the current Microsoft Dynamics GP syst

After restoring a GP Company Database from another SQL server you may get the following error when trying to log into the restored company: "The selected company is not configured as a company of the current Microsoft Dynamics GP system database. HTML code displayed on the bottom of a navigation list pane instead of returning actual results. GP 2013 and GP 2015.

This has been an issue that Njevity has been struggling with on new GP 2013 and GP 2015 installs. The confusing part has been that it will occasionally go away. With a lot of help from Daryl Anderson at Microsoft we finally found a work around. First of all, the issue goes away as soon as an application is installed that drops a DLL file in the AddIn folder of the GP program files. For cases where there are no DLL files in the AddIns folder simply copy the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.BusinessIntelligence.Homepage.dll file from the root of the GP installation (example: c:Program Files (x86)Microsoft DynamicsGP2013) to the AddIns sub-folder.
